The Sun Kings have been skulking around the Wellington music scene — or if you believe Wellingtonians, the secret centre of the known universe — for about a decade now, stubbornly refusing to age or mature musically.
As an indie rock outfit, their roots are firmly planted in the hallowed dirt of 90s rock, grunge, britpop, and brit-rock, because why fix what ain't broke, right?
While staunchly claiming they eschew fame and fortune in favour of artistic integrity (or something), if fortune came their way, they'd be prepared to put up with a little fame.
